November 27, 1990 - Bob Probert and John McIntyre.
I couldn't find a clip of this fight, but here's Probert taking on Jay Miller from the same game.

Probert beat McIntyre but he was beating everyone back then.
McIntyre did throw some punches just couldn't reach Probert. |

| Thanks, jay, I'd assumed that he lost. I remember McIntyre as a rookie on the "exciting" (relatively speaking) 1989-90 Leafs (the first .500 finish for the team in a decade). I liked him: a chippy young defensive forward, sort of a grittier, more courageous Bill Berg. He wasn't a good fighter at all, though, so coming across this pic where he's apparently throwing down with gusto against the NHL champ was a pleasant surprise. |

From that fight picture, McIntyre looks like he could´ve played in the Special Olympics. _________________ Sticks and stones and weed and bones |

| He had big weird lips and breathed only through his mouth, if that's what you mean. |

Leading with your face is never a good idea. He does look like the Something about Mary kid though.
btw, some quality mullets on the fans there. There was probably a lot acid washed denim in the stands that night. |

The slanty eyed geezer with the ball cap, just above Probert´s head, definately looks like he could be FC material. żA young Krames? _________________ Sticks and stones and weed and bones |

December 26, 1998 - Matt Barnaby jerseys his old pal, Lyle "Cornelius" Odelein. One of 2 fights they had this game, and 9(!) for their careers.

I remember the fight between McIntyre and Probert as clear as day when it happened and I've seen it a few times since. It was a big time surprise because McIntyre was way outta his league against the toughest guy in the league at the time. Like Sittler, I do remember McIntyre coming up with the Leafs and being quite the agitator, but unlike Bill Berg, McIntyre would actually fight if he had to. He had a decent # of fighting majors in his 1st year with the Leafs.
Then he was traded to the Kings and he fought a few times but this fight with Probert was the shining moment of his career. This fight was in JLA and Probert threw a hard hit on McIntyre (who didn't appreciate it and wasn't gonna take no BS from the heavyweight champ of the league) and he actually initiated the fight, much to Probert's surprise, I'm sure. And McIntyre did OK for himself, throwing a few punches and doing well at the beginning before Probert took over a bit. From memory, I'd say it was only a narrow win for Probert, but probably closer to a clear win. But I always respected McIntyre for sticking up for himself and starting a fight with the legend.
After that, McIntyre went to Vancouver for a bit, where he may have gotten into only a few fights at the most. I remember one he had against Kris King in that fight-filled game in Vancouver when Mike Peca destroyed Teemu Selanne with an open-ice hit. But McIntyre was wearing a shield at this point, and it seemed to me that he wasn't as interested in the rough stuff as he had been in the past, and I think he was done in the NHL after his stint in Vancouver.
But yes, McIntyre was a funny looking, babyfaced individual. You could spot this immediately when he was 1st up with the Leafs. He was similar to Kelly Buchberger with his looks.
And look at the 2 bozos cheering at the glass. Anybody notice that they look like twins? Must have rode in on their snowmobiles from the backwoods of Northern Michigan. _________________ An inbred hunter is in the forest and he comes across this hot, naked chick laying on a blanket with her legs spread wide open.
